The Waterford Stingrays swim team is a part of the Greater Forsyth Swim League (GFSL). As part of the League, the team competes with other teams across Forsyth County. Each summer, the Stingrays compete in 6 swim meets and a Finals Invitational Meet at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The summer season starts mid-May and ends mid-July. The Stingrays team is comprised of approximately 150 swimmers, ranging in age from 5 to 18 years. The team prides itself on developing its own coaches, as many swimmers have swam as a Stingray and then move on to serve as a volunteer coach, or apply to be a part of the coaching staff. The Stingrays boast one of the largest coaching staffs in the League. With a low swimmer to coach ratio, the team promotes a positive, fun, yet competitive, experience for all swimmers. The Waterford Stingrays are known for building lifetime friendships and strong swimmers, thus earning a place among the top tier of teams in the League. The last competitive season of 2019, the Waterford Stingrays ranked 5th out of 19 teams.
